Crafting Fool

My plans for this summer were to lay on the dock, exercise and craft, craft, craft! Well, when I lucked into my internship, those plans were changed. Now I do my interning all week long and can only play on the weekend (such a hard life!). I pulled out my crafting box…er, boxes, and after procrastinating on the internet I was inspired to paint!

I love painting, even though my technique isn’t the best. I also enjoy making jewelry. I wish I had more time to create things, but when I do create, I love to share with people.

Possum Festival Fun

Last Saturday, my family and I went to the World Famous* Wausau Possum Festival in Wausau, Florida. The Opossum is a small rodent that can be described as cute but it’s more likely to be seen as a nuisance. When the possum is threatened, they “Play Possum” and pretend to be dead. This nocturnal animal likes to hang by it’s tail from tree limbs and eat garbage. So why not celebrate it with a festival!?!

We got to meet the “Possum Queen”, pose with possums, and watch a possum auction. All in all, a great day with my family!

*relative term, by “world” I mean it’s famous in my world.

Reunited

My best friend Val came up to spend a few days with me. She’s a amazing nurse who saves lives everyday, so she took a break from that to see me! Last night my parents treated us with dinner at my favorite seafood restaurant. It’s a wonderful place where you can sit right on the Bay and watch the fishermen bring the days catch in.

Now we are preparing for my favorite holiday, Fourth of July! Most of our celebrations will be this weekend, but we’re going to have a fun time until then!

Another Rainy Day…Debby is here to stay

I woke up late because sleeping while it’s raining is one of my favorite things! I’ve got to take the little puppy to the Vet today, but that’s later in the day. Now to do some light cleaning and cuddle with the puppy!

Rainy Day

I woke up to waffles and coffee, courtesy of my father, and a little rain storm named Debby. But I live in Florida and we’re used to storms coming through. Rainy days call for a good book, comfy couch and a movie. Which is my plan!
